Joe Babb grew up in Ripley, Mississippi and was a graduate of Ripley High School in 2000. From there, Joe attended Mississippi State University, and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Accountancy in 2004 and a Masters of Taxation in 2005. Immediately after graduation, Joe completed the CPA exam and worked as a staff accountant for Deloitte and Touche, LLP in downtown Memphis, Tennessee, receiving his CPA license in 2005. In 2007Joe and his family moved to Tupelo where he practices public accounting with Eaton, Babb & Smith, P.A. In January 2012, he became a shareholder of the firm. In addition to the CPA designation, Joe is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and Master Analyst in Financial Forensics (MAFF). Joe is an active member of First United Methodist Church in Tupelo, where he chairs the Finance Committee and is a discussion leader for s Young Adult Sunday School class. In addition, he proudly serves as Treasurer of the Kiwanis Club of Tupelo. In 2012, Joe completed the Jim Ingram Community Leadership Institute through the Community Development Foundation. As a product of public schools in North Mississippi, Joe has a passion for public education and understands its importance to our city and region.
Joe is married to the former Lauren McGee of Ripley. Joe and Lauren have three children: Cate (7, 1st grade at Carver), Ava (5), and Jack (infant).
